Building Opportunities in Support of Sisters (BOSS), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization aimed at reducing professional and financial disparities for low-income, first-generation, and minority women. Our program covers academic excellence, college and internship readiness, self-discovery, entrepreneurship, financial fitness, and health and wellness. Through lectures from industry professionals, career workshops, field trips, and mentorship and coaching, students are equipped with the tools to enter --and remain-- in the workforce as one’s best, most well-rounded self.

Katie Harris
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Katie is the Co-Founder and CEO of BOSS, where she is dedicated to empowering young women through mentorship, education, and leadership development. She also works as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Washington, D.C., and previously spent four years in People Operations and Marketing at Google. Katie holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University, where she earned a four-year, full-tuition merit scholarship. Passionate about the intersection of tech, education, and social impact, Katie remains committed to driving change through BOSS and beyond.
Cecilia Harris
Co-Founder and Community Relations Manager
Cecilia is the Co-Founder and Community Relations Manager at BOSS and the Founder and CEO of Extracare Home Health Agency, Inc., a leading provider of in-home, consumer-directed, private duty nursing services in St. Louis, MO. What began in the basement of her home in 1999 has grown into a thriving company with 100+ employees, serving over 3,000 clients and partnering with organizations such as The Department of Health and Human Services, The Alzheimer's Association, and Missouri Baptist Hospital. Beyond her role as a successful business owner and proud mother of four, Cecilia has contributed to her community by serving on the boards of The St. Louis College of Health Careers and The Missouri Black Expo Health Committee.
Tyler Harris
Co-Founder and Program Manager
Tyler is the Co-Founder and Program Manager at BOSS and currently works as a Public Relations Specialist at Amazon. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Communications and Public Policy and is an alumna of Whitfield School in St. Louis, MO. While in high school, Tyler showcased her leadership and dedication to equity by founding Whitfield’s first Diversity Council, aimed at raising awareness of social injustices within her community. A dynamic leader, she also served as captain of her volleyball team for two years and became a role model for navigating the college application process, earning acceptances to 18 top-ranked universities and receiving over $400,000 in scholarships.
